If you don't mind me saying, I never imagined you as the baking type.
Sure does. Personally makes me think of cornfields, back patios, and golden retrievers.

Really? It's all simple chemistry. Ma had the real talent for it, I don't typically go out of my way unless I'm feeling nostalgic. Which is rare.
Sounds unmistakably American. But then again, so do you.

Fair. Reckon I look at cooking the same way. Take it you're not a nostalgic type?
Cornbread and apple pie, that's me. Helps when you grow up on a ranch.

For very, very few things. One doesn't move forward by reminiscing. I find baking to be meticulous, but meditative. As is most of my work, honestly.
Like I said. Unmistakably American. I think the widest open space I've ever seen was still a skyline.

Guess that's a fair way of looking at things. I do some of both.
City type, then?

Baking and reminiscing?
For the most part. I haven't been anywhere near the countryside since before college. Even then, after the Omnic Crisis, there wasn't much left.

Reminiscing and forward-thinking. I don't bake much.
Right.
[He remembers that from their "drift".]
I'd tease you about being city folk if I didn't get the circumstance.
